Who We Are
The National Healthcare Enhancement Foundation is a registered non-profit charitable organzation in Jamaica with the mandate for the management, adminsitration and mobilization of all philanthropic giving for the benefit of the Public Health Sector of Jamaica. Established in February 27, 2022 the NHEF is an agency of the Ministry of Health and Wellness and is the gateway for our donor community to make donations to the Public Health Sector of Jamaica.
What We Do
To enhance its value proposition to stakeholders, the National Healthcare Enhancement Foundation is committed to improving the public health system in Jamaica by providing services to the donation process in three key areas to enhance the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness:
- Goods and Services – Facilitate, administer and coordinate an efficient and effective end-to-end process for donation of goods and services to the public health sector of Jamaica.
- Medical Missions – Facilitate, administer and coordinate an efficient and effective end-to-end process for Medical Health Missions it Jamaica.
- Waivers of Customs Duties and Taxes – Given our charitable status we facilitate relief from import duties and taxes on donated goods.
- Customs Clearance – Faciltate and coordinate the customs clearance and delivery of landed overseas donations of goods to the public health sector.
- Donor Campaigns – Proactive targeted mobilization of donor support and campaigns to meet the needs of the public health sector.
- Donor Programmes – Proactive and responsive development of structured donor programmes to meet the needs of public health system and the interest of donors.
Harmonize Donor Giving – Engage and sync the desires of donors with the needs of the public health system.
Equitable Support – Seek to drive engagement with donors that advances equitable support to health facilities and communities island-wide.

We believe that philantropiic giving and the generousity of our donor community is important to supporting the enhancement of our hospitals and community health centres. To this end, the opportunities for the provision of donor support exist with the following four key Donor Programmes:
